Remedies
How much do we know about the
treatments we use (wrinkle remedies)
for removing wrinkles,
removing age spots or about the creams we use
to cover freckles. Lotions and creams are ten a
penny on shop shelves, but how safe are they
and what`s more do they work as they suggest on
the packaging.
One
of the simplest wrinkle remedies (method) used
by many for removing wrinkles is the actual
skin treatment i.e. topical application
(wrinkle cream). Creams can be purchased from
shops – drugstores, pharmacies and most health
food stores. This particular cream is
beneficial to all skin types; the cream
replenishes - moisturizes and nourishes the
skin. But, here comes the big but - the creams
ability to reduce and smooth out wrinkles, or
tighten the collagen under the skin's surface
is, sadly to say, restricted. Any signs you may
have noticed from use will be short lived if
the topical agent is discontinued. So as you
can see this can be an expensive way of dealing
with your problem when the results are only
temporary.
Topical application of
prescription drugs, most notably synthetic
derivatives of Vitamin A (retinoids), can give
better results in bettering sun-damaged and
aging skin. In laboratories the latest clinical
studies showed that topical retinoid
formulations found them to be safe and
effective in ridding fine wrinkles. But once
again you have to be aware that most retinoids
are skin irritants and often produce skin
reactions.
Some
people choose other wrinkle remedies to help
gain back a natural healthy glow to their skin
while in the process of removing wrinkles. One
of the selections available is Dermabrasion and
Microdermabrasion: Dermabrasion which is a
traditional skin clearing routine that was
brought to our attention in the 1980s.
Sometimes referred to by folks as surgical skin
planing, What happens with this choice in a
persons quest for smoother silky looking skin
minus the wrinkles is - it commonly involves
removal or sanding of the skin with a rotary
abrasive instrument. The abrasive or planing
action evens out the skin, and a new layer of
fresh skin replaces the abraded
skin.
This procedure is
usually reserved to patients with severe acne
and deep furrows (wrinkles) however, is it
worth the wait because - the healing and
recovery are lengthy, where the skin was
treated then expect it to remain red and
flushed for an extended period of time. Of
course every treatment is up to the own
personal choosing of each individual, whether
it be topical creams or Dermabrasion and
Microdermabrasion
Take
Microdermabrasion, which in contrast to
Dermabrasion, is a more recently introduced
treatment. It is more popular among those with
mild skin damage seeking to preserve and
maintain a younger looking complexion. Wrinkle
remedy instructions should always be followed
accordingly to what is written on the
packaging. Microdermabrasion involves brushing
the face with sterile micro-particles to abrade
or rub off the very top skin layer, then
vacuuming the particles and derma braded skin
away. Scientists state the procedure works best
to polish and soften fine lines and dull skin
texture.
Remember there are
no overnight cures or miracle potions to remove
wrinkles. In most cases of the
Microdermabrasion method, a minimum of four to
five initial treatments, seven to ten days
apart, are necessary to achieve positive
results. Talk to your doctor about prescription
drugs and creams before use. A dermatologist
will have most of the answers to your questions
on skin problems and wrinkle
remedies.
